i'm almost home!!

[ As promised, a couple of minutes later, Xue Yang unlocks the front door to their apartment and calls out: ]

Xingchen! Zichen! I'm home!

[gentledawn]

[Xingchen pokes his head out of the kitchen, brightening.]

I'm here, A-Yang. Did you miss me or are you just hungry?

[bringingdowndisaster]

[ Xue Yang grins and immediately makes his way into the kitchen so he can wrap his arms around Xingchen, leaning up to kiss him. ]

Mmm, both. Where's Zichen? Is he not home yet?

[gentledawn]

[Xingchen grins and pulls him into his arms, meeting the kiss halfway. Xue Yang gives the sweetest kisses~]

He is tutoring one of his students. I imagine he took a break just to talk to you.

[bringingdowndisaster]

[ Xue Yang pinks a little at that. ]

Oh. I thought he was home. He didn't even mention he was tutoring.

[gentledawn]

He won't be long. [Xingchen chuckles and kisses Xue Yang's cheek.] You're more important than tutoring.

[bringingdowndisaster]

[ Xue Yang ducks his head down, suddenly feeling a little embarrassed. And touched. ]

A-Anyway, I'm hungry.

[gentledawn]

Then come eat. [Xingchen, amused, moves the plates of food that can be dipped into the broth he had made to the table.] You don't need to worry. If Zichen was upset, he would tell you.

[ Xue Yang eagerly seats himself at the table. ]

Mm... I know. We talked, he told me he was sorry, that he overreacted.

[gentledawn]

[Xingchen sits too and shakes his head fondly.]

You mean a great deal to him. You mean a great deal to both of us.

[bringingdowndisaster]

[ Xue Yang blushes a little. ]

You... mean a lot to me too.

[gentledawn]

[He flushes and makes a plate, dipping vegetables into the broth at the center of the table.]

It feels like I've known you for much longer.

[bringingdowndisaster]

[ Xue Yang smiles softly as he starts to eat. ]

Mm... I feel that way about you and Zichen too.

[gentledawn]

[Xingchen frowns as he eats, thinking it over.]

Have you had any strange dreams, by chance?

[bringingdowndisaster]

[ Xue Yang frowns a little and then shrugs. ]

I mean, dreams are usually pretty strange. You mean something more specific?

[gentledawn]

A town full of coffins... [Xingchen remarks before looking ashamed of himself.] Maybe I'm not getting good sleep.

[bringingdowndisaster]

[ Xue Yang looks a little thoughtful. ] You know... something about that sounds kinda familiar. Maybe neither of us are getting good sleep. [ He chuckles a little. ]

[gentledawn]

[The door opens then and Zichen walks in, glancing at the pair shyly. Xingchen smiles and rises, welcoming the other man with a soft kiss to his cheek.]

Sit down and join us, Zichen. A-Yang and I were just talking about odd dreams.

[bringingdowndisaster]

[ Xue Yang gets up to greet Zichen too, lacing his arms around his neck and pressing a kiss to his lips. ]

You've not had dreams about a house full of coffins, have you?
