[Xingchen frowns as he eats, thinking it over.]

Have you had any strange dreams, by chance?

[ Xue Yang frowns a little and then shrugs. ]

I mean, dreams are usually pretty strange. You mean something more specific?

[gentledawn]

A town full of coffins... [Xingchen remarks before looking ashamed of himself.] Maybe I'm not getting good sleep.

[ Xue Yang looks a little thoughtful. ] You know... something about that sounds kinda familiar. Maybe neither of us are getting good sleep. [ He chuckles a little. ]

[gentledawn]

[The door opens then and Zichen walks in, glancing at the pair shyly. Xingchen smiles and rises, welcoming the other man with a soft kiss to his cheek.]

Sit down and join us, Zichen. A-Yang and I were just talking about odd dreams.

[bringingdowndisaster]

[ Xue Yang gets up to greet Zichen too, lacing his arms around his neck and pressing a kiss to his lips. ]

You've not had dreams about a house full of coffins, have you?

[gentledawn]

[Zichen pinks under the attention, blinking at the topic. Strange dreams?]

...coffins? [He thinks back and nods slowly.] A place with fog. A place I couldn't leave.

[Xingchen looks startled.]

That doesn't sound good.

[ Xue Yang startles a little. He hadn't quite expected Zichen to have had the same kind of dreams! ]

Huh. Maybe we knew each other in a past life. [ It's said half in jest, but who knows? ]

[gentledawn]

[Zichen notices their discomfort and smiles faintly.]

Even if we did, this is a new life.

[Xingchen squeezes Xue Yang's hand.]

Mm that's true. This apartment is much nicer than a coffin.

[ Xue Yang nods and kisses Zichen's cheek and then Xingchen's. ]

Yeah, this is much better.

[gentledawn]

[Zichen looks pleased, unable to look away from them for a few moments.]

How was your day, A-Yang?

[Xingchen touches his cheek shyly and goes back to eating.]

[ Xue Yang grins at them both and sits back at the table. ]

It was good! I finally finished that huge backpiece. Hang on, lemme show you. [ He pulls out his phone and shows a picture of a tattoo on someone's back, depicting a colorful dragon that covers the person's entire back. ]

[gentledawn]

[Xingchen leans in and gasps.] A-Yang, that's beautiful! A dragon that handsome should have a name.

[Zichen hums his agreement, his gaze softening.]

Were they happy?

[ Xue Yang beams under the praise. ]

Mhm! He was very pleased with the result. Guy was covered head to toe in tattoos already. The back was pretty much the only place he hadn't gotten done yet.

[gentledawn]

You're a fine artist. [Xingchen pours them each a glass of wine.] I've never thought about getting a tattoo, but I think I would trust you.

[ Xue Yang grins. ] I'd love to tattoo you. [ He looks at Zichen. ] Both of you. If you'd want me to.

[gentledawn]

I need to be careful with my job. [Zichen murmurs, not entirely against the idea. Xingchen sips some wine, swallowing before he asks:] How do you feel about swords?

[ Xue Yang sips on his own wine before responding. ] You could get one on your back, where no one will see. [ He chuckles a little. ] I mean, I have a tattoo of a sword myself.

[gentledawn]

It's true, you do. [Xingchen pinks and smiles to himself.] I want one too.

[Zichen sighs.] I can't be left out.

[ Xue Yang brightens. ] I can draw some designs for you.

[gentledawn]

Please do. [Xingchen wiggles in excitement.] I need my Shuanghua.

[He pinks and explains:] If I had a sword, I would name it that.

[Zichen's eyes widen.] ...mine...would be Fuxue.

[ Xue Yang makes a surprised face and then tugs up the pant leg up to his right thigh where his sword tattoo is. ] Jiangzai.

[gentledawn]

Maybe we really did know each other...before... [Xingchen bends down and brushes his fingers over the tattoo. Zichen blushes and drinks some wine.]

That's a chaotic name.

[ Xue Yang giggles a little when he sees Zichen blush. How cute... ]

Well, I'm a pretty chaotic person.

I have noticed. [Zichen comments, though not without affection.] You say the strangest things.
