I want him and his little sister to have the best. [Zichen cooks the fish just enough before cutting it into fillets. He sets two good sized chunks near the cats. Muyang and Xiuying lick them immediately and begin to eat.]

They scared me too.

[ Xue Yang watches with warmth in his eyes, chuckling at their cats' ravenous hunger. ]

Mm, it's true, they should be spoiled. [ He turns his head and kisses Song Lan's shoulder and then he nuzzles into his neck. ]

[Even their snake seems hungry, devouring the mouse and then finding a nice spot to curl up. Zichen has gotten a small bowl of water for her. He had rescued the bowl from the ship too.]

Good girl. [He praises the little creature. Then he turns and kisses Xue Yang's forehead.] I can start on a small shelter for us if we stay here too long.

[ Xue Yang smiles under the kiss and slips his arms around Song Lan's waist as he snuggles close and waits for their food to be done. ]

Mm, sounds good. I'll help you. I got pretty good at building shelters when I was living on the streets.

[Zichen sees to their rabbits, cutting off the meat and offering Xue Yang some. Along with fish. The cats can't eat all of it, after all.]

There is plenty of wood and I won't have trouble cutting a tree down.

[ Xue Yang happily accepts the meat and digs into their surprisingly substantial meal. ]

[ He teases and playfully nips at Song Lan's lips. ]

[They need their strength and sleep is hard when stomachs are empty.]

[He smiles helplessly and nudges their noses together.]

You are strong though. [ He lifts his hands to stroke appreciatively over Song Lan's arms. ]

[Zichen pulls Xue Yang into his lap and wraps around him.]

I won't be as strong once life is restored to me.

[But for now, they can enjoy it.]

[ Xue Yang laughs warmly and licks at Song Lan's fingers in between bites. ]

[He taps Xue Yang's nose to admonish him before hugging him around his waist.]

[ Xue Yang just grins and tries to nip at Song Lan's fingers. He slips his arms around Song Lan's neck when he's hugged and kisses him. ]

[The nip makes him laugh, but the sound is muffled by the kiss. He blinks shyly when they part, unwilling to let go of his husband.]

I believe you. You would stay with me even if it was boring or difficult. I know that.

[ Xue Yang smiles and sinks down on Song Lan's lap, resting against his chest. ]

Always. [ He murmurs and nuzzles his lips against his husband's neck and shoulder. ]

My A-Yang. [He curls around him and chuckles.] Look, love.

[The black snake has slithered into the bowl of water, blowing little bubbles.]

[He reaches out and strokes over her dark head with a finger. Meanwhile she rests her chin on the side of the bowl, eyes closing.]

It must feel nice. I didn't want her feeling too dry.

She's probably enjoying being outside. It's pretty nice, honestly. I don't want to be stranded for too long, but... it's not too bad for now.

There's a breeze and plenty of life. We could have been stranded on much worse islands.

[Zichen nudges a finger under Xue Yang's chin and claims another kiss.]

[ He grins, cheeks warming as he's kissed again. He parts his lips to deepen it and to suck at Song Lan's tongue. ]

[His expression softens and he moans, nibbling on Xue Yang's lips and tongue in return. It amazes him how comfortable this is - how right this feels. His very soul is at peace.]

You're too cute. If a monster sees you, they will try to carry you away.

[ Xue Yang shivers as he presses into the kisses, eagerly kissing back. ]

No, they won't! Because A-Lan will protect me, won't he? [ He purrs softly and licks over Song Lan's lips. ]

[Zichen growls and shudders, his lips a little swollen from their passion.]
